South Orangetown Middle School Students Selected to Compete in National Doodle 4 Google Competition

A total of 46 South Orangetown Middle School art students recently competed in this year's Doodle 4 Google competition. Each year, Google invites students to use their artistic talents in redesigning the Google homepage logo. This year's theme is "What I'd like to do someday." The students' work was judged based on artistic merit and how well they depicted the theme and the winners were chosen by teachers Beth Dougherty and Peter Olsen. Sixteen student works were selected to move on to the regional competition encompassing New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. Winners from each region around the country will then go to the National competition. The winning logo from the National Competition will be displayed on the Google homepage on May 20, 2011.
