Northvale Classic Diner Adds New Wild Shakes to Menu

Northvale Classic Diner in Northvale, NJ, introduced a number of Wild Shakes, over-the-top, Instagram-ready milkshakes, to the menu this May. Among these new shakes is the Funfetti Shake, a favorite at the Orangeburg location. The Funfetti Shake features a rim frosted with vanilla icing and sprinkles, a Funfetti cake slice, homemade whipped cream, a cake pop, a lollipop, all atop a rich base of cake batter milkshake.

In addition to the Funfetti Shake, Northvale Classic Diner is also adding the candy bar shake, Cookie Monster shake, and the cookie dough shake.

The Cookie Monster shake includes a rim of vanilla icing and crumbled chocolate cookie, a homemade butter shortbread cookie in the likeness of Cookie Monster, and a blue-colored vanilla cookie dough shake. Chunks of real chocolate cookies blended into the base for a rich cookie flavor throughout.

The candy bar shake has a Nestle Drumstick in addition to Butterfingers, peanut butter chips, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, Kit Kats, and a whole pretzel rod atop a vanilla candy bar flavored milkshake. The base is made by mixing the original vanilla milkshake with Butterfingers, Snickers, and peanut butter chips.

“Our ice cream is from a small-batch ice cream manufacturer in Brooklyn,” says John Kontolios, owner of the diner. “It’s really good quality ice cream. It’s not like super market [quality].”

These flavors will be joining the classics: Oreo, brownie, cheesecake, and cannoli shakes. The average Wild Shake is 16 ounces, not including toppings.
