Registration Now Open for WCS Run for the Wild at Bronx Zoo

Registration Now Open for WCS Run for the Wild at Bronx Zoo

This Spring, The Bronx Zoo will be hosting the 11th annual WCS Run for the Wild. Registration is now open and an early bird discount is available through Jan. 31. This NYC 5k walk/run is dedicated to saving wildlife and wild places and will take place at the world famous zoo on Saturday, April 27.

Individuals and teams can register by visiting the WCS Run for the Wild website. Runners, walkers, and wildlife supporters are welcome to join or support a participant. Participants are required to raise $35 beyond their registration fee.

The 5K race for individual runners begins at 8am. Casual runners and walkers can participate in the Family Fun Run/Walk at 8:45am.

The WCS Run for the Wild raises awareness of the various threats wildlife face while raising money to help WCS conservation work at the Bronx Zoo and globally. This year's inspiration is giraffes due to their classification as vulnerable by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature. Their numbers are plummeting in their native African range.

For more information, registration, or to sponsor a runner, visit the WCS Run for the Wild website.
