    Top 16 Westchester Christmas Tree Farms to Cut Your Own

    Find local Christmas tree farms in Westchester County and head out to cut your own Christmas tree this holiday season.

    There’s nothing better than the smell of fresh pine at Christmastime, so head to one of these Westchester Christmas tree farms, or one nearby, to cut your own tree this year! Each farm has a selection of live Christmas trees and allows you to pick your own tree from its natural setting, cut it down and cart it home. Most Christmas tree farms in Westchester, Fairfield, Putnam, and Dutchess counties are slated to open Thanksgiving weekend, but it’s a good idea to call to confirm dates and availability before visiting.

    Cut Your Own Tree in Westchester, NY

    Find and cut your perfect Christmas tree, then visit the on-site bakery that has hot and cold cider, fruit pies, fresh apple cider doughnuts, jams, and jellies. 

    2. Wilkens Fruit and Fir Farm

    This cut-your-own Christmas tree farm offers Douglas and Fraser fir trees, as well as some pre-cut Fraser firs. Enjoy a farm market, gift shop, and bakery at this Westchester Christmas tree farm near NYC. Customers get a free cup of hot apple cider with every tree purchase. Reservations are required until December 4, after which walk-ins for trees are welcome.

    Fairfield County Christmas Tree Farms

    1. Jones Family Farm

    Price: Prices vary depending on size of the tree.

    Receive a special dated and hand-designed wood ornament when you harvest your own tree. Hand saws, twine, and tree baling services available. Holiday decorations and traditional crafts and ornaments for sale. Refreshments available. Leashed dogs are welcome during Christmas time, though they are not allowed in all areas.

    2. Maple Row Farm

    Price: $118 on weekends for pre-cut trees. $10 off on weekdays

    Cut-your-own and pre-cut trees available at this Connecticut farm. Tree baling and assistance provided. Saws are provided or bring your own (no chainsaws allowed).     3. Paproski's Castle Hill Farm

    Price: Cut-your-own trees start at approximately $60. Cash or check only.

    Staff will provide assistance in wrapping and tying your tree to your car. Also offers pre-cut trees and handmade wreaths.     Cut your own Christmas tree at this Fairfield County Christmas tree farm. The farm is also known for its seasoned firewood, great for wood-burning stoves or fireplaces. 

    Christmas Tree Farms in Putnam County

    1. Cockburn Farm

    Bring your family to this popular Putnam County farm to cut-your-own Christmas tree. Choose from a variety of firs that range in size from 3 feet and taller. Hand saws are available to borrow. Handmade wreaths and grave blankets are for sale. Santa is sometimes on-site, but check his schedule on the website. 

    Christmas Tree Farms in Dutchess County, NY

    1. Abel's Trees

    Baling and handling assistance provided. Free hot chocolate. Wreaths, tree stands, tree preservatives, and automatic tree-watering devices are also available. All size trees available, including trees taller than 10 feet. Kettle corn and baked goods available for purchase.     2. Battenfeld Christmas Tree Farm

    Handmade decorated wreaths, ornaments and garlands for sale. Rent a handsaw for $10 or purchase it for $15. Farm map and discount coupon available on the website. Leashed pets allowed. Check website for Santa’s schedule.

    3. BJ's Christmas Trees

    This is the farm’s final year of Christmas Tree operations. Offers a variety of trees, as well as handmade wreaths. Staff will bale and drill your tree, then carry and tie it to your car. Must pick up any reserved trees by December 4.

    4. Evergreen Farm

    Hand saws and a tractor-pulled hayride to the fields are available. There is a tree drilling machine and compatible stands offered so your tree will be ready to assemble at home. Tree balers and "elves" available help you tie your tree to your car.

    7. Saltsman Christmas Tree Farm

    This 100-acre farm in Rhinebeck offers a wide selection of 4- to 15-foot trees. Saws and binding provided. Free hot cocoa available. Daily farm updates available on the farm’s Facebook page.
