For many parents, choosing the right childcare center will be one of the most important decisions they will ever make. A child’s healthy development depends on safe and positive experiences during the first few years of their life.

At Little Scholars, we put your child on the right track for early childhood education! Our curriculum addresses each child’s social/emotional, language/communication, cognitive development, physical development, and self-help/adaptive skills at an age-appropriate level.

Our goal is to encourage each child to think and express themselves independently, by using the scaffolding method, which is why we created four unique and age specific programs: researchers, intellectuals, specialists and professors. Each program provides children with the opportunity to self-express through language, play, art, music, and creativity, while encouraging them to use information they learn on daily basis.

Researchers (6 – 24 months)

We aim to develop listening and speaking skills in children from a very early age – even before their first birthday. Children as young as 12 months will be singing songs – and learning to communicate – through gestures. Older children will be exposed to books, develop awareness of a printed word, and begin to make sense of their phonemic world. All children will have the opportunity to communicate with peers and adults in a constructive and nurturing environment allowing them to learn and master their language and speaking abilities.

Intellectuals (2 – 3 years old)

Nursery children nowadays are ready to explore everything. Their skills are becoming vastly refined and their abilities seem limitless. Skills such as turn-taking, playing make-believe, and kicking a ball are now milestones of every child’s development. Little Scholars has put together a curriculum to address each domain of development for an extensive potential of milestone achievements.

Specialists (3 – 4 years old)

Preschoolers’ development is not only about learning their alphabet and how to count from 1 to 10; it is also about the learning process of receiving information and knowing what to do with it. At Little Scholars we have developed a curriculum that allows your child to learn not only how to take in information but also how to use and build on that information. This is achieved by allowing children to learn and play simultaneously.

Professors (4 – 5 years old)

This stage of development is what we at Little Scholars like to call the “growth spurt.” Each child at this stage is silly, imaginative, and energetic, and they have plenty of opportunity every day to show all the little growing talents they possess. The golden middle between what children can do by themselves and what can be achieved with the support of the teacher is what our curriculum is based on. Each child is guided and monitored through learning activities to get them to the next stage – obtaining a new understanding built on both their prior knowledge and the new knowledge gained with the help of dedicated teachers.

Additionally, we created a separate curriculum with enrichment classes that every child can participate in. Currently, parents have a choice of four classes: zumba, phonemic yoga, martial arts, and chess. Each class offers individualized instruction in fun engaging setting with low child to teacher ratio.

The success of our program is based on our ability to cater to each child’s individual needs and help them get to the next stage of development. We understand the importance of play and have designed our curriculum around that to allow children to have more freedom. Our teachers hold degrees in early childhood education, which allows them to teach children more efficiently and pass on knowledge, which will set them up for success throughout their schooling and their life.
