Red Owl Academy was created to bring a fresh and modern approach to early childhood education with a strong emphasis on the importance of organizational skills in the first few years of a child’s life. We believe if these skills are acquired from an early age, the child will be equipped with the most important tools needed to build a successful life.

Summer Camp for 3 to 5 year olds
Join us for 6 weeks of themed summer camp programs:

 Monday to Friday, from 9 to 4

July 10^th to July 21^st – STEAM - Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics - We’ll explore the ways that design, building, the scientific method, art and technology all come together through fun and exciting, age-appropriate, indoor and outdoor projects, games and play.

July 24^th to August 4^th - ORGANIC+SUSTAINABLE GARDENING - We’ll learn about seeds, plants and how a garden grows, as well as animal and insect garden inhabitants and visitors! We’ll explore growing food as well as growing a garden for pollinators (birds, bees + butterflies), beneficial insects, worm composting and more! Children will create and take home a container butterfly garden that will attract pollinators to their own gardens.

August 7^th to August 18^th – ART - We’ll explore a variety of art mediums including drawing, painting, collage, printing, textile arts and nature inspired art, with visits from professional artists and field trips to local galleries/museums. Our approach to art focuses on process, not product. Children create their own, unique pieces through the use of age appropriate techniques and materials.

All sessions will include indoor and outdoor free and organized play time, organic snacks, art, gardening, French, music and movement and more.

Who are we?

We are the new kids on the block! Red Owl Academy is an intentionally small, mixed age preschool, housed in a brand-new building in downtown Sparkill.

Our outdoor space includes an organic garden, lovingly grown and tended by our teachers and children using sustainable gardening methods.

Our STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) based curriculum draws from Reggio, Montessori, Waldorf and Bank Street early childhood philosophies. Children learn about their world through play based exploration, within a joyful, nurturing and structured program.
