Smile More Dentistry Provided Free Dental Care to Residents of Bergenfield NJ on October 8

Doctors Mariliza LaCap and Darren Tong of Smile More Dentistry hosted their annual Day of Free Dentistry event on October 8, providing over $16,000 worth of dental treatment to Bergen and Rockland County residents. The event was on a “first come, first served” basis. The line began as early as 8am, with people lined up around the block. People traveled from all over Bergen and Rockland County to come to the doctors’ Bergenfield office located at 19 Legion Drive.

Donning blue t-shirts with angel wings on the back, Dr. LaCap and Dr. Tong, with their Smile Team of 22 volunteers, including their associates, Dr. Andres Munoz, Dr. Radhika Shah, Dr. Michael Davidson, and Dr. Jonathan Gellis, provided free dentistry to the local community. Each person received a filling, extraction, or a dental cleaning. $16,000 in dental services were performed for kids and adults between 9:30am-4:30pm. This brings the total amount of free work done by Smile More Dentistry to be well over $150,000 in the past 10 years.

“We chose the month before Thanksgiving for our Day of Free Dentistry because we are so thankful for the blessings we have received throughout our dental career. Our entire team is excited to be able to give much needed care to those who cannot afford the treatment," Dr. LaCap said. "As a growing number of Americans are out of a job or just don’t have dental insurance, we felt this was a great way to help address the problem and to give back to the community.”
