My Gym Nanuet Receives Face-Lift Under New Owner

My Gym Nanuet, a fitness center for children in Nanuet, recently came under new ownership, and is now furnished with new equipment. The children's fitness center also offers birthday parties.

At My Gym Nanuet, children build healthy lifestyles through fun physical activities, such as space flight, that builds strength, agility, flexibility, and coordination.

My Gym Nanuet, a children’s fitness center, whose mission is to assist in the healthy development of kids’ physical, emotional, and cognitive growth through fun fitness classes, is now operating under new ownership. Open in Nanuet for 13 years, the facility still offers the same classes for children ages 6 weeks to 13 years, such as Little Bundles, Cardio Kids, and birthday parties, but is now furnished with brand-new equipment. All classes are non-competitive and enrollment is open year-round while class availability lasts.

Little Bundles is a parent-child movement program designed for infants ages 6 weeks to 6 months. The class utilizes music and infant-safe rides to introduce children to music and movement.

Cardio Kids is a combination program of cardio, strengthening, and flexibility exercises for 7- to 13-year-olds. The one-hour class uses a four-station circuit-training course and additional nutritional tips to inspire children to be active and eat healthy foods on a day-to-day basis.

David Schlamme, new owner of My Gym Nanuet, says the gym’s best new feature, however, is the top-to-bottom renovation. “Having kids of my own, I think it’s so important that facilities are clean and state-of-the-art,” Schlamme says. “I think that’s also important to the families, as well. They’re investing in us just like we’re investing in them, and I think we did a really amazing face-lift that incorporates that.”
